As I've been thinking about this blog over the past few days, I kept asking myself should I just be sharing my RAOK (random acts of kindness) experiences or should I be posting about other related things as well? I thought I would get some feedback from my best bud, Becky, who has been blogging for quite awhile now. You see, this is my first blog so I'm super new to this. Becky on the other hand is an experienced blogger and therefore I've been recruiting her help on getting this going. She made a great point today about creating a following before my RAOK events even begin. After reading that, I had an answer to my question. I will post more often!
With that being said, I ran across a quote today that really stuck out to me. Here it is:
"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." - Arthur Ashe
Wow! What a great quote for this blog and the adventure I'm about to begin. So many times I feel like I don't do things because I don't know where to start or don't have enough money or can't do these phenomenal things. This quote really spoke to me to just start small. I have some great ideas as to all the experiences I would like to accomplish but I need to realize they won't happen overnight. As much as I would love to give someone every week a $100 bill that might not always be able to happen. Even though I can't do extravagant acts every week that doesn't mean I shouldn't be doing anything. It costs nothing to tell a coworker that you appreciate her. It only takes a few minutes to write someone a note and put it in the mail (yes! I did say mail it!). Being kind is simple and easy! Now it's time for me to get to work!
This is a great quote. It's so true for so many things....relationships, work goals, spiritual growth, better health and fitness, losing weight...just about anything. Thanks for sharing.
